"Making it My Business to Assist You with Yours."

WELCOME!

Merri is a Virtual Assistant (aka, Business Support Specialist, Administrative Professional, Success and Growth Partner, etc.) who helps small business owners and entrepreneurs
dig out from under their administrative overwhelm and collaboratively works with
her clients to support their business growth.

"Meeting people halfway is the most significant trip we can take.
We don't work for each other ... we work with each other."

Are you a Micropreneur (entrepreneur with a handful of employees, usually not more than five) or a Solo-preneur (a business owner starting out on your own and managing everything yourself)?

Well then, I'm so glad you found me!  If you landed on this page because you were searching for an employee, you might want to hit your browser's 'back' button and check the job sites.  But if you landed on this page because you want a business owner who handles administrative details to partner with you in a long-term collaborative relationship, then we're already in step with each other.  Please stay awhile and let's get to know one another.

What Do Entrepreneurs Need Most?

Balance:

Balancing Rocks
Balance
As an Entrepreneur or Solo-preneur, what is your biggest need?  You might say "cash flow," "marketing tools," or "to grow my business."  Growing your business is a priority, and that will only come as a result of having BALANCE

You ventured out on your own and took on your dream business because you have a passion for your product or service and believe others will find value in it. So how much time have you actually spent on what you do best?  You've probably found that you're now wearing many hats -- from head of sales and marketing to janitor and bookkeeper -- whether or not they are the areas you're strongest in.

To do something well, you can't do it ALL. In this picture, how much more will that pile of rocks (representing your life balance, time, energy, health and focus) take on before it comes toppling down?  With all of the demands of the business, it's easy for entrepreneurs to lose sight of what motivated them to go into business in the first place.
YOU are your business' most valuable asset.  You need to protect your business by focusing on the part you do well, allowing time to rest and recharge, and by bringing in help for all the rest.

How?  (That's where I come in ...)

Jar of Big Rocks
Priorities - Big Rocks
It would not be wise to perform surgery on yourself or self-diagnose a medical problem if you've had no medical training.  You have experts in your life to quickly help you accomplish the tasks that you don't have the training, experience, or desire to do -- like your plumber, CPA, web designer, dentist, dog groomer, business coach, or hair stylist.  These people are your personal team of experts that take care of you and your needs.  Just like running a household, for your business to survive and thrive, it needs consistent attention and maintenance. If you are using your time to keep every ball in the air (marketing, sales, production, administrative, billing, research, procurement, networking, social media, vendor selection, accounts payable, website maintenance, IT ...and on and on), then you are going to reach burn out in short order and your business, like a delicate house of cards, will come crashing down with you.  Your successful business needs you to spend the majority of your time focusing on what you do best and delegate the rest. Give your time and attention to your passion, your dream, and you'll find that you're not only attracting a more balanced life, but your business will gain a healthy foothold and grow.

I have a jar on my desk filled with rocks to remind me to keep my priorities straight -- first things first.  How do rocks in a jar relate to balance?  If you're not familiar with the analogy, see this story.  My jar has my "big rocks" (life and business priorities) put in the jar first.  Then the smaller pebbles (necessary tasks, but not my main focus) went in next, filling in more of the available space.  I could have taken this visual analogy further by adding sand which would fill up the remaining room left in my jar (life / time).  Ideally, in your business, you will be focused first on the 'big rocks' while I take care of the pebbles and sand for you.   You will be amazed at how much we can accomplish together, how you will now find time for yourself and your family and how your business will take on a new life as you are now able to focus on growing it.

I Am Passionate About "Sand!"

Sand, Administrative Details
I thrive on the details
As you've probably experienced, the sand can take on a life of its own, completely FILLING your time.  The sand for you is time taken from your passion and profit. Your time and business may feel like they've been buried by sand.

The sand for me
is a day at the beach!  If we partner together, I will unbury you from the sand and happily take over the nitty-gritty details that have consumed your time and energy.
